Developed and commissioned industrial automation solutions for complex packaging machinery and production lines, including stacking, conveying, transfer, robotic and palletising systems.

My role evolved from Software Engineer to Lead Software Engineer, combining hands-on PLC and HMI development with software architecture, technical leadership, machine commissioning and international customer delivery.

Key responsibilities & contributions

• Developing PLC and HMI software for industrial packaging machines, robots, transfer systems and conveyor systems using Siemens TIA Portal
• Designing and implementing automation software to improve machine performance, reliability and maintainability
• Developing the core software architecture for one of CSI Packaging’s key machine platforms based on PackML principles, establishing a reusable and standardised control structure that continued to be applied in subsequent machines
• Defining technical and functional specifications for automation solutions
• Standardising software architecture and reusable state/mode structures across machine platforms
• Leading software development activities and providing technical guidance to engineers
• Coordinating hardware/software integration, testing and on-site commissioning activities
• Performing safety and functional testing, FAT, SAT and customer acceptance activities
• Troubleshooting complex automation, hardware and software integration issues
• Training operators and technical service teams
• Supporting customers through commissioning and successful operational handover
